How I uncover what may be affecting learning... and help each learner move forward with greater confidence.

Hi, I’m Michelle.

Here’s the difficult truth about reading challenges:

When a child struggles with reading, the effects rarely stay on the page.

They can follow the child into homework, the classroom, family life, and their confidence in their own abilities.

Perhaps some of these thoughts feel familiar:

“I’m stressed knowing my relationship with my child is suffering because of reading.”

“I feel powerless when tutoring fails to improve my child’s reading comprehension.”

“I feel drained repeating the same reading lessons without seeing progress.”

“I’m worried my child’s struggles will close doors to future opportunities.”

“I’m desperate to find something that truly helps my child’s education thrive.”

Parents naturally want to help. They add tutoring, repeat lessons, buy new materials, or encourage their child to practise even more.

These strategies may help, yet they don’t always answer the most important question:

Why is reading so difficult for this particular child?

The answer isn’t always more effort or more repetition.

Sometimes, progress begins by looking beneath the visible struggle—seeking to understand the learner’s unique strengths, needs, and the factors that may be affecting their ability to learn.

That’s where my work begins.

For more than three decades, I’ve worked with children, families, and educators to better understand how people learn—and why learning sometimes becomes challenging.

My experience as a teacher, school founder, principal, reading expert, and NeuroEducation Consultant, has taught me to look at the whole learner.

Every child has a unique combination of strengths, needs, experiences, and goals.

My role is to help families better understand what may be affecting their child’s learning and identify personalized ways to support stronger skills, greater confidence, and more independence.

That is the work I have devoted my career to, and the work I am passionate about sharing with children and their families.

We are very happy with our son’s achievements since participating in one of Michelle's programs. English has gone from being his most difficult subject to being his best (and favourite).

Our little boy, who had always struggled with reading comprehension, now reads with ease and pleasure! In just a few weeks (even a few days!), we and his teacher saw an enormous change in his understanding and reading speed.

In this short, easy-to-understand video, I explain the basics of this listening-based approach in simple, non-technical language—what it is, how it works, and why listening is at the heart of it.

If you’re curious about how listening may influence learning, language, attention, and everyday functioning, take five minutes to watch. You’ll gain a clearer understanding of the approach and whether it may be worth exploring for you or your child.
